SPARK THE FUTURE 2025 SPEAKER
Pekka Lundmark
In over 20 years as a CEO, Pekka has accrued expertise in the telecommunications,
technology, energy, manufacturing, machinery, retail and finance sectors.
Pekka worked as Nokia’s President and CEO from August 2020 to March 2025. During that time, the company regained its technology competitiveness in 5G, strengthened its leadership across network technologies, renewed its purpose, operating model and cultural principles, and returned 3 billion EUR to shareholders.
Since stepping down as Nokia’s President and CEO, Pekka has stayed on as an advisor to his successor, Justin Hotard.
Pekka also worked for Nokia previously in his career, between 1990 and 2000. During this time, he worked in multiple roles, including as an account manager, responsible for the launch of the world’s first GSM network.
This was followed by time in venture capital, and then the consumer goods company Hackman, where he first became a CEO. He then led material handling technology company Konecranes for 10 years before moving to Fortum, an international energy company, for five years.
Pekka’s experience has given him unique insight into the technologies that will drive the green and digital transitions. These include 5G, AI, private networks, the Industrial Internet of Things, cloud computing and various green energy technologies. His personal passion is to apply technology to improve the productivity and sustainability of traditional industries.
